Attribute Organizer

For literacy these next 2 weeks my literacy class has been studying careers and our future, I continue to assume the reasoning is that since many of us are going to high school soon it is a good way to prepare for the future rather than the fact they are trying to make our last few weeks as boring as possible.

This is an attribute organizer on a couple random jobs in the industry                                                                        Most of these I did not choose but found challenging at the same time, as per usual I found it boring but I'm trying to improve my report, so yeah, suffer.

I could definitely have added another one but I find the pictures funny, and surprisingly some of these may surprise you if you are bothered to read them

Employment in NZ

For literacy these next 2 weeks my literacy class has been studying careers and our future, I assume the reasoning is that since many of us are going to high school soon it is a good way to prepare for the future.

I personally quite enjoyed the activity because all of the information was on the website I will link below,

This google sheet contains information about the employment status in New Zealand.                                     I liked how quick the activity was to finish and was surprised at the statistics.

Naturally I found the activity quite boring but I need the credits for my report. ;)                                               But it doesn't cease to surprise me that the Building industry is the most under-supplied industry, the Travel industry I can understand.

If this is of any interest to you the information is on this website  link

Circus poster

This week for literacy my class has been studying strange and wonderful animals.
One of the tasks was to create a circus poster with four talented and strange animals.

My animals are the Swift, the Basking Shark, The Green Basilisk, and The Japanese puffer fish.

(I had to black out my Surname)

The reasons for these animals is because the Swift has an incredible flying ability, the Basking Sharks looks scary, The Green Basilisk Can run on water, And the Japanese Puffer fish can create sand mandalas.

I spent a lot of time on this and I like the choice of animals, the Display could have been better for it looks a bit random.

Feel free to leave a comment on what animals you would have chosen.

Strange Animals Attribute Organizer

For Literacy These next few Weeks My Class has been studying Strange Animals.

This is a Attribute organizer for 6 different animals, the last two were my own choice and I think they fit the theme being both strange and interesting

If you don't agree feel free to leave a comment on what animals you would have chosen

I think the Organizer is good and I especially like the blobfish photo                                                               I do think I could improve on the Interesting facts column for our criteria was key words  and I did full sentences

Enjoy

Term 3 Ako Reflection

Term Three Ako Reflection

This is a blog post about what I have learned this term. There are three items of learning, one for Maths, Literacy, and one of my choice, which is art.

This is my one for maths, it's just pictures of my math book, including standard written form subtraction, square numbers and roots, and common multiples. I learnt Standard written form subtraction in June, and the other Two in July.

I think the images could have been better, but I liked doing the work and the math is all correct.                 My next steps are to learn how to cube numbers, like the cube of 4 = 64.

This is for Literacy,
The theme for literacy this week was animals and this task was to write an information report on an animal. My choice was the Asian Small-clawed Otter, starting with pelt, diet, and habitat and finishing with 4 random facts about the Otter.

I think i could improve on the ending, by making a conclusion. But the writing is structurally good like how the paragraphs are organised. I think my next step is to go back and make a conclusion

My last one is Art. This is my calendar art for this year; it is an ocelot eye.

I used mostly pastel apart from the fur which is color pencil and vivid highlights for the eye and the markings. I created it from using a picture of an eye from Google and the face from a picture of an
Ocelot

I found it difficult finding a good shade of brown for it's fur but I liked doing the art, and the eye is pretty cool. My next step is to improve the beige fur. I think it needs more "texture" like different shades of brown.

90's toys

For literacy these two weeks my
class is working on the 90's.

The toys you will see are fur-by's
Tamagotchi's, the Nintendo game boy,
and  hungry hungry hippos.

The things I like about it is the
layout and the pictures, but I could
improve on the info, the wasn't much
on google about hungry hippo's
apart from worried parents
asking about the game
