Term 3 Ako Reflection

Term Three Ako Reflection

This is a blog post about what I have learned this term. There are three items of learning, one for Maths, Literacy, and one of my choice, which is art.

This is my one for maths, it's just pictures of my math book, including standard written form subtraction, square numbers and roots, and common multiples. I learnt Standard written form subtraction in June, and the other Two in July.

I think the images could have been better, but I liked doing the work and the math is all correct.                 My next steps are to learn how to cube numbers, like the cube of 4 = 64.

This is for Literacy,
The theme for literacy this week was animals and this task was to write an information report on an animal. My choice was the Asian Small-clawed Otter, starting with pelt, diet, and habitat and finishing with 4 random facts about the Otter.

I think i could improve on the ending, by making a conclusion. But the writing is structurally good like how the paragraphs are organised. I think my next step is to go back and make a conclusion

My last one is Art. This is my calendar art for this year; it is an ocelot eye.

I used mostly pastel apart from the fur which is color pencil and vivid highlights for the eye and the markings. I created it from using a picture of an eye from Google and the face from a picture of an
Ocelot

I found it difficult finding a good shade of brown for it's fur but I liked doing the art, and the eye is pretty cool. My next step is to improve the beige fur. I think it needs more "texture" like different shades of brown.

I like the layout and the pictures (credit not to me)
but i think i needed more info

90's toys

For literacy these two weeks my
class is working on the 90's.

The toys you will see are fur-by's
Tamagotchi's, the Nintendo game boy,
and  hungry hungry hippos.

The things I like about it is the
layout and the pictures, but I could
improve on the info, the wasn't much
on google about hungry hippo's
apart from worried parents
asking about the game

Electric Vehicle Of The Future

This week my class has been learning about electricity.
One of the things we could do was electric vehicles.
The one I made was traced from a picture I found Online
(I searched up fancy cars and found this cool gold one)
I really like it although it does need a little improvement
like the fact that I didn't add door handles
but  there are pro's to, and I am happy to say
i got the inspiration from the car in johnny English
hope you all like it!

create a zoo

This is another thing my class did for literacy,
this is a zoo from birds eye view.
I made it up out of my favourite animals.

What I like is the pictures makes is look so
much realer.

What I don't like is the gravel, on the scale of the
the gravel is as big as large rocks.

The Foax

This week for literacy we have been doing animals
one of the challenges is to make up an animal and
make a poster about it.

What I like about it is that the Foax is really cute
and that I did a male and female

What could improve is that there could be a few
more sentences about the foax

Asian small-clawed otter

This is a information report on the
Asian small-clawed otter and
its appearance, diet, and habitat.

what I think I did well
was the layout of the
report.

What could improve is there
being more paragraphs.

Energy saving poster

This is a poster about saving energy,
there are seven examples about saving
energy in your home.

What I think i did well was the layout
of the poster.
What I think could improve is there being
a couple more ideas.

Sea turtle fact file

This is a fact file about the green sea turtle
in the top left is a picture, to right their diet
bottom left is why they are endangered and the
bottom right is their population.

What I like is the Latin name in the top left box .
What I don't like is the population, none of the
websites I looked at had the male sea turtle population

Global warming animation

This is a animation on global warming. it show the sun throwing fire at the earth,
causing it to set Australia on fire

What I like about it is that it is based on the forest fires in Australia.

What I think could improve is that I could make it longer.

BATMAN VS SUPERMAN

Once again, this week for literacy we have been doing DC Superheros.

This is a Venn diagram showing the differences and similarity's
between Batman and Superman.

What I believe I did well is that I knew most of the information
that went on Batman's side.

What I think I should improve on is that I realized
Superman fights a lot of villains too, and that
I don't think i put enough facts on both.

Character Y chart batman

These two weeks for literacy we have been doing DC comics.
(I personally starting watching Young Justice and calling it homework
but that didn't last)

This is a Y-chart on Batman in Young Justice but
the picture is him in Teen Titans Go, on
the left are his looks, the top his actions
and right his characteristics.

What I think I did well is that
the picture is quite cool, and the looks
column I'm sure is correct.

What I think could improve is the
actions column and characteristics
column, I'm not sure the info is all
correct in those columns.

Favourite Superhero/ Villain

These two weeks for literacy we have been doing DC Superheroes.
(Since we are in lock-down I have had plenty of time to do this.)

This is a chart on my favourite superheros and villains, in no particular order
two are Marvel and six are DC.

What I think I did well was how I added the pictures to the name
column, (apart from Cheetah.)

The one thing I wasn't to sure about was that as I was writing this
I realized that Rocket and Spider-man were in infinity war and
endgame, and that Bumblebee was in Young Justice,
so I got that wrong.

my mars buggy

this week for literacy we did space.
This is my mars buggy, as it says in the title
i like how i put the picture of mar's surface in the background
i think that i could have made it look i bit more like a real mars buggy

made up planet writing

this week and last week we have been doing space for literacy.
this is the writing about the made up planet that i did the fact file about
i like how i just explained the fact file in greater detail
i should have made juniper a capital letter

moon and earth animation

this week and last week we have been doing space for literacy.
today i did a animation about the moon and earth
I personally like how i used pictures and made the ending loony tunes themed
i think that i should have made it longer but you can comment if you think its good

Pluto facts

this week and last week we have been doing space for literacy.
this piece of work is a fact file on the dwarf planet Pluto.
what I think I did well was how I use pictures and that it looks like a proper fact file.
in retrospected is should have made the P in Pluto a capital but here it is.

juniper, the made up planet

for literacy this week we have been doing space so we all made up a planet and made a fact file about it.
juniper is a green planet with "ewoks" on it, it is in a galaxy called the lunar system and it is the 4th biggest planet in the lunar system
in retrospected i should have made juniper a capital letter and put the names of the moons
